There is such rich color and beauty in the flowers, plants, foods, and wildlife found in nature and I want to bring creative interpretations of this natural beauty indoors for people to enjoy.
I have always enjoyed figurative painting and presenting all my subjects as portraits, whether it be the human figure, wildlife, classic cars, flowers, or shiny fruits and vegetables. Ultimately I just like to paint. I enjoy getting caught up in watching something emerge on the canvas - sometimes while listening to music and sometimes in silence.
In recent years my painting style has evolved. After going through a series of health challenges and life changes that shifted my perspectives and priorities, I strive to focus on simply creating beautiful and calming art that will have a positive, uplifting, happy, and healing effect in people’s homes. I have most recently been choosing to do this through nature inspired art. Whether it’s wildlife or plants, I like to combine my unique layered style with the subjects I chooses to put a modern spin on nature and still life art.
The world is stressful and people are busier than ever. When we have uplifting spaces to retreat to in our homes or workspaces, it helps us recharge and find some calm and peace among the rush of life. I want to highlight the beauty of natural elements in hopes that it inspires us to make choices that will enable us to lead the best lives possible. When we feel good, we enjoy life and can experience more. There is such rich color and beauty in the flowers, plants, foods, and wildlife found in nature and I want to bring creative interpretations of this natural beauty indoors for people to enjoy because we all spend so much time indoors today.
